Annual assembly testing, documented and submitted for you.
Most water districts require a backflow assembly to be tested once a year by an approved tester, and they will send a notice when yours is due. The test itself is quick - the assembly is isolated, each check valve and the relief valve are verified against gauge readings, and the system is returned to service. 02Diagnose and restore
Backflow repair
Rebuild or replace an assembly that has failed its test.
A failed test usually comes down to a worn check valve, a fouled relief valve, or debris and mineral build-up on a seat - all of which are normally repairable with a rebuild kit rather than a new assembly. Freeze damage and a cracked body are the cases where replacement is the honest answer. Either way you get told which it is and why before the work happens, and the assembly is retested and re-filed once it passes.

Broken heads, stuck valves, dry patches, and leaks you cannot find.
Describe what you are seeing and the diagnosis is ours to do - a wet spot that never dries, a zone that will not start, heads that mist instead of spray, or a water bill that jumped for no clear reason. Common causes are a cracked lateral line, a solenoid or diaphragm that has failed in a valve, heads damaged by a mower or by settling, and clogged nozzles. You do not need to know which one it is before you call.

Bring the system up slowly and find what winter broke.
Charging an irrigation system too quickly after a winter is how pipe and fittings get damaged, so the main is opened gradually and pressure is brought up under control. Every zone is then run through: heads checked for damage and alignment, coverage corrected where it has drifted onto pavement, the controller programmed for the season, and the backflow assembly checked for freeze damage before it is put back into service.
05Cold-weather prep
Blowout & winterization
Clear the lines with compressed air before the first hard freeze.
North Idaho winters will split a sprinkler line and crack a backflow assembly if water is left sitting in them, and that repair costs far more than the blowout does. The system is drained zone by zone with compressed air at a pressure the pipe and heads can take, the backflow assembly is drained and left in the correct position, and the controller is shut down for the season. New systems, added zones, and reworking coverage that never worked.
This covers a new system on a new lawn, extending an existing one to a garden bed or a section that was never piped, replacing heads and valves that have reached the end of their life, and moving zones around after landscaping has changed. Where a layout has always had a dry corner or an area that floods, the fix is usually zone design rather than more water, and that is worth saying before parts are bought.

New sod needs water in the right places from the first day, so the irrigation and the lawn are best planned together - grading and preparing the ground, laying the sod, and setting the sprinkler coverage and controller schedule for establishment rather than for a mature lawn. Existing systems are adjusted to match the new layout instead of leaving you with heads watering the wrong ground.

Proof in the field
A leak that looked like a buried water-line failure.
After multiple earlier attempts, Park Properties reported that Cole Enders found the source of a persistent Dalton Avenue irrigation leak: an old valve near the sleeve opening that was not shutting off correctly.
Replacing the faulty valve resolved the leak and let the property move forward with better sprinkler coverage and lawn recovery.
